Last week we defined growth-hacking as using low-cost strategies to acquire customers. What I’m sharing with you this week is one of my very favorite ways to drive leads, build your list and accelerate growth. In fact, it’s one of the top strategies I’ve used to grow my own businesses through the years.
Sure, you can painstakingly grow your audience person-by-person as a path to building your business. It’s something all businesses do to some extent. But what if there was an easier way to introduce your product or service to a large, captive audience all at once?
I’m suggesting there is. Instead of bringing the audience to you, focus on partnering with people and organizations who have already built audiences filled with your ideal prospects.
This can look different depending on the company you’re in and the prospects your targeting, but some common ways that my clients and I put this strategy to work include being a guest on someone’s podcast, speaking at conferences, serving as a guest expert on webinars, co-hosting events, writing guest articles in newsletters and blogs, teaching groups of employees and developing strategic partnerships. And this is just scratching the surface!
